Germanium(II) Iodide (GeI2) is soluble in cold water, concentrated hydriodic acid, and dilute acid. It is slightly soluble in chloroform and carbon tetrachloride and insoluble in carbon disulfide. It is slowly hydrolyzed in humid air and will be disproportionated to germanium and germanium tetraiodide (GeI4) at 550 ℃.
