Boron Nitride Description

Boron nitride resists chemical erosion and is not eroded by inorganic acid and water. The boron-nitrogen bond is disconnected in a hot concentrated base. Over 1,200 ℃ began to oxidize in the air. About 2700 ℃ starts the decomposition at the vacuum. Microsoluble in thermal acid, insoluble in cold water, with a relative density of 2.29. Compression strength is 170MPa. The maximum use temperature is 900 ℃ in an oxidation atmosphere, compared to 2800 ℃ in an inactive reduction atmosphere, but with poor lubrication performance at room temperature. Most of the boron nitride performs better than carbon materials. For hexagonal boron nitride: very low friction coefficient, good high-temperature stability, high heat shock resistance, high strength, high thermal conductivity, low expansion coefficient, large resistivity, corrosion resistance, permeable microwave or infrared transmission.
