Bismuth Fluoride (BiF3) Powder is white crystallization. It volatiles at higher temperatures but does not decompose.
There are two α and β types, made by the above method, which can be converted to β type if it is heated to 220℃. The melting point was 725~730℃. If heated to 900℃, there is a considerable degree of evaporation. Insoluble in water and hydrogen fluoride solution. The bismuth hydroxide acid BiF3·2HF. can be produced with excess hydrogen fluoride acid hydrolysis can be changed to BiOF·2HF if further heated, it becomes BiF3 and BOF.
