Lutetium Chloride is applied in making laser crystals, and also has specialized uses in ceramics, glass, phosphors, lasers. Stable Lutetium can be used as catalysts in petroleum cracking in refineries and can also be used in alkylation, hydrogenation, and polymerization applications. It can also be used as an ideal host for X-ray phosphors.

Lutetium Chloride LuCl3.6H2O Application

Lutetium(III) chloride hexahydrate is used as a catalyst and laboratory reagent. It is also used in ceramics, optical glasses, electrical components and photo-optical material. It is one of the components of the scintillating composition. It serves as a precursor for the preparation of other lutetium complexes. It finds application as one of the starting materials for aluminate phosphors.
