More info

Zirconium Boride (ZrB2) powder has three components: zirconium monoboride, zirconium diboride, and zirconium tribromide. Only zirconium diboride is stable in a wide temperature range. Industrial production is mainly based on zirconium diboride. The electrical resistance is slightly lower than that of metal zirconium. It is stable in a larger temperature range after heating. Although it has a high melting point, it can be sintered at a lower temperature. It is prepared by mixing metal zirconium with boron carbide and boron nitride and heating it to 2000°C in an argon gas stream.
