Zirconium Sulfide (ZrS2) is a red-brown powder with a metallic luster. It is relatively stable and insoluble in water, dilute acids, alkalis, and most organic solvents. It is not oxidized by air. When heated to red heat, it burns into zirconium dioxide. It decomposes or sublimates without melting at a temperature higher than 800 ℃.
