Tantalum Foil & Ribbon Description

Heeger Materials supplies high-purity Tantalum Foil (Ta Foil), Tantalum Strip, and Tantalum Ribbon for demanding industrial, research, electronic, chemical, vacuum, and high-temperature applications.

Manufactured from high-quality tantalum and tantalum alloys through controlled rolling processes, our tantalum foil combines excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature stability, ductility, and formability. Thin tantalum foil can be cut, stamped, formed, or fabricated into application-specific components.

Available materials include R05200, R05400, Ta-2.5W (R05252), Ta-10W (R05255), and Ta-40Nb (R05240). Standard and custom dimensions are available according to ASTM B708 and customer-specific requirements.

Tantalum Foil Specifications

For widths greater than 6", please refer to our Tantalum Sheet products. For thicknesses greater than 0.1875", Tantalum Plate is generally the more appropriate product form.

Available Tantalum Grades

R05200 Pure Tantalum

R05200 is unalloyed tantalum suitable for applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance, ductility, formability, and refractory-metal performance.

R05400 Pure Tantalum

R05400 is an unalloyed tantalum grade available for applications requiring controlled tantalum chemistry and reliable material performance.

R05252 – Ta-2.5W

Ta-2.5W contains approximately 2.5% tungsten and provides increased strength compared with pure tantalum while retaining many of tantalum's useful corrosion and fabrication characteristics.

R05255 – Ta-10W

Ta-10W contains approximately 10% tungsten and is selected for applications requiring higher mechanical strength and performance under demanding conditions.

R05240 – Ta-40Nb

Ta-40Nb is a tantalum-niobium alloy available for specialized applications requiring the combined characteristics of tantalum and niobium.

How to Order Tantalum Foil
