Antimony sputtering targets are silver materials with the formula Sb. Antimony is a lustrous gray metalloid found mainly in nature as the sulfide mineral stibnite (Sb₂S₃). It is widely used in fire retardants for various products and in flame-proofing compounds, paints, ceramic enamels, glass, and pottery. Additionally, antimony trichloride is used in these applications. Antimony is also used in ball bearings and alloying with lead, enhancing hardness and mechanical strength in concentrations of 1 to 20 percent.
