Holmium is a melleable, soft, lustrous metal with a silvery colour rare earth metal. Holmium can absorb neutrons, so it is used in nuclear reactors to keep a chain reaction under control. Its alloys are used in some magnets. The antomic mass of Holmium is 164.93031 amu and the melting point is 1470.0 °C (1743.15 K, 2678.0 °F). The density is 8.54 and the crystal is Hexagonal.
