GTR-KTP Crystal is an advanced version of the traditional KTP crystal, designed to overcome the grey-track phenomenon that limits the performance of standard KTP in high repetition rate and high-power laser systems. GTR-KTP crystals exhibit enhanced grey-track resistance, making them ideal for demanding applications. The grey-track phenomenon can be measured using a photothermal common-path interferometer, where the crystal shows increased absorption after exposure to continuous 532 nm green laser light. Heeger Materials provides high-quality GTR-KTP crystals, offering improved durability and efficiency for advanced laser applications.

For the same optical path length in crystal devices, the absorption value of GTR-KTP crystals at 1064 nm is only 1/10 of that of traditional KTP crystals, as shown in the figure below:
When a green light (400 mW, beam diameter 0.07 mm, power density 10 KW/cm²) passes through the crystal, the infrared absorption of the crystal increases due to the gray tracking phenomenon. The figure below shows the change in absorption values over time at 1064 nm for GTR-KTP crystals and traditional KTP crystals, respectively.
