TZM alloy, which stands for Titanium-Zirconium-Molybdenum, is a high-performance material widely used in high-temperature applications due to its excellent mechanical properties. This alloy combines the strength of molybdenum with the added benefits of titanium and zirconium, significantly improving its resistance to deformation under extreme conditions. TZM is particularly known for its outstanding creep resistance, which makes it ideal for use in environments where materials are subjected to prolonged high temperatures and mechanical stress. The addition of titanium and zirconium enhances the alloy's resistance to oxidation and improves its overall strength at elevated temperatures, making it a preferred material for aerospace, nuclear, and metallurgical industries, where reliable performance at high temperatures is critical.
TZM Alloy is a prevalent molybdenum alloy, comprising 0.50% titanium, 0.08% zirconium, and the remaining balance of 0.02% as a carbon molybdenum alloy.
The table below compares the physical properties of TZM alloy with pure molybdenum. TZM alloy exhibits excellent mechanical properties, particularly at elevated temperatures, surpassing pure molybdenum.

TZM alloy plate is a molybdenum-based alloy plate with titanium and zirconium as alloying elements. It is a commonly used high-temperature alloy in molybdenum-based alloys. Its composition is 0.50% titanium, 0.08% zirconium, and the remaining 0.02% carbon molybdenum alloy. When the temperature reaches 1300 degrees Celsius, the strength of the TZM plate is twice that of the pure molybdenum plate, and the recrystallization temperature is 250 degrees Celsius higher than that of pure molybdenum, with better high-temperature performance. Therefore, TZM is used as structural parts in high-temperature vacuum furnaces. TZM is also widely used in high-temperature resistance, radiation shielding, and aviation fields.
The arc melting method prepares TZM alloy through the following steps:
The steps of the metallurgical method are as follows:
TZM Molybdenum Alloy will be carefully packaged in wooden cases, and supported with soft materials to prevent movement during transportation. This ensures that the products remain securely in place throughout the packaging process.
