Lithium Nitride (Li3N) Powder will react violently with water and produce ammonia. Finely powdered lithium nitride can be ignited in the air. It is a super strong base and a fast ion conductor and has a higher electrical conductivity than any other inorganic lithium salt.
Lithium nitride (Li3N) powder is a catalyst for the synthesis of Boron Nitride (BN) at a high temperature and pressure. It also can be used as a solid electrolyte and an electron injection layer for organic light-emitting devices.
