Tantalum Capillary Tube Description

Heeger Materials supplies high-purity Tantalum Capillary Tubes, Tantalum Micro Tubes, and precision small-diameter tantalum tubing for medical, X-ray, thermocouple, electronic, vacuum, laboratory, and high-temperature applications.

Our tantalum capillary tubing is available with outer diameters from 0.2 mm to 8 mm and wall thicknesses from 0.015 mm to 0.5 mm. Precision manufacturing capabilities include OD tolerances as tight as ±0.003 mm, wall thickness tolerances as tight as ±0.005 mm, and length tolerances as tight as ±0.05 mm, depending on dimensions and manufacturing requirements.

Pure tantalum and tantalum-alloy grades are available, including R05200, R05400, Ta-2.5W, Ta-10W, and Ta-40Nb. Custom dimensions, tolerances, lengths, and material requirements can be reviewed according to customer specifications and technical drawings.

Available Tantalum Grades

R05200 Pure Tantalum

R05200 is an unalloyed tantalum grade suitable for precision tubing applications requiring tantalum's characteristic corrosion resistance, ductility, high-temperature stability, and specialized material properties.

R05400 Pure Tantalum

R05400 is another unalloyed tantalum grade available for applications requiring high-purity tantalum capillary and micro tubing.

Ta-2.5W

Tantalum containing approximately 2.5% tungsten provides increased strength compared with unalloyed tantalum while retaining many of tantalum's useful corrosion and high-temperature characteristics.

Ta-10W

Ta-10W provides higher strength than pure tantalum and is available for demanding applications requiring tantalum-tungsten alloy tubing.

Ta-40Nb

Ta-40Nb combines tantalum and niobium and is available for specialized applications requiring a tantalum-niobium alloy.
